Snowy Beach

Biomes

Snowy Beach — biome.

Obtaining

Natural generation

Snowy beaches form where a cold land biome meets the ocean. The shore keeps the broad, walkable shape of a beach, but snow layers and ice replace much of the usual warm shoreline palette. The local worldgen enables underground features, amethyst geodes, monster rooms, ore veins, vegetation and a freeze-top-layer pass.

The biome profile also opts into the beach tag, so systems that target beaches can treat the snowy variant as a beach without duplicating a second rule. Its feature list includes a final freeze-top-layer placement pass for shoreline icing.

Travel and building

The flat shoreline is convenient for a small landing, while the cold surface supplies sand, snow, and ice for early construction. Check the edge before launching a boat: shallow frozen patches can hide the open-water channel.

Sounds

Snowy beaches use the ordinary beach, snow and water sound context; the biome itself does not define a separate sound set.

Climate and environment

The validated spawn table has bats in the ambient group, glow squids below water, and the regular hostile group including spiders, zombies, skeletons, creepers, endermen and witches. Creature spawns are intentionally empty in this biome profile.

Data values

The biome uses the stable `minecraft:snowy_beach` identifier and a cold climate profile. Its surface is assembled from beach sand with snow and ice near the waterline rather than from a separate solid “snow beach” block.
