Beach — biome.

Obtaining

Natural generation

Beaches are low coastal biomes that form where ordinary land meets an ocean. Their surface is primarily sand, with gravel and water shaping the transition into nearby shores. The biome keeps the ordinary Overworld cave, ore, geode, spring and freeze-top passes, so underground generation continues below an otherwise simple-looking beach.

Climate and environment

The local spawn table keeps the beach readable during the day but does not make it safe at night. Turtles use the creature pool with groups of two to five and weight 5, bats use the ambient pool with groups of eight and weight 10, and glow squids can appear in underground water with groups of four to six and weight 10. The ordinary Overworld hostile groups remain available after dark.

The beach tag is also used by structure placement: buried treasure and the

beached-shipwreck set treat both ordinary and snowy beaches as eligible coastal

biomes.

Data values

The beach uses the stable `minecraft:beach` biome identifier. Its climate and water colour come from the same generated worldgen record as the public biome page, while the feature list keeps the normal Overworld underground passes enabled.
