Stony Shore
Stony Shore — biome.
Obtaining
Natural generation
Stony shores generate where steep, low-erosion land meets the ocean and replace an ordinary beach with exposed stone. They can occur at any temperature, so the same narrow, uneven coast may border a warm or cold route. Gravel fills the lower edge while the rising terrain exposes more solid rock, making the biome a practical transition between a mountain route and a boat landing.

|---|---|
| Downfall | 0.3 |

| Terrain profile | Steep stone and gravel coast with low erosion |

Travel and building
The rocky coast is a quick source of stone and gravel, but its uneven floor leaves fewer flat spots for a large settlement. A small dock or staircase can connect the water to the inland path; snow at higher elevations marks the colder mountain side of the shoreline.
Ambient music
The biome uses the ordinary overworld ambient music pool rather than a dedicated soundtrack. Water, cave and hostile-mob events therefore provide most of its local sound identity.

Climate and environment
Stony shores have no passive land-animal spawn entries. Hostile mobs use the ordinary surface-night table, while bats and glow squid keep the cave and water edges active. A nearby deep dark can also remain close below the steep coastline because the biome does not flatten the underground terrain.

Data values
The biome uses the stable `minecraft:stony_shore` identifier. Its defining surface is a stone-and-gravel coastline, with snow appearing where the neighbouring terrain is cold enough.

History
Stony shore was introduced as a shoreline biome for steep terrain. The modern terrain system keeps its stone-and-gravel identity while allowing the coast to connect directly to taller land and nearby ocean variants.
Trivia
The biome is a useful visual signal for a sudden elevation change: snow at the upper edge and gravel at the waterline make the boundary easy to read from a boat.
