Brown Mushroom

Blocks

Brown Mushroom — block.

Obtaining

A brown mushroom can be collected directly from world generation or from a planted mushroom. Its large form uses a dedicated substrate tag: dirt, mud, moss, grass blocks, mycelium, podzol, crimson nylium, and warped nylium are accepted below a huge brown mushroom.

Large formBrown mushroom block
Placement ruleThe target space must be replaceable by mushrooms

Breaking

Breaking a brown mushroom drops the mushroom itself, so a small patch can be harvested and replanted without a separate seed item. The block loot table is independent of the potted variant, which keeps the drop predictable when the plant is moved into a flower pot.

Natural generation

Brown mushrooms grow in dim places and are especially common in mushroom and forest biomes. World generation uses separate placed features for ordinary overworld terrain, swamps, old-growth taiga, the Nether, and mushroom fields, so the same block can appear in both damp overworld pockets and dark Nether terrain.

Usage

The plant block uses a flat sprite representation.

The mushroom is used for mushroom stew, rabbit stew, suspicious stew, and fermented spider eyes. It can also grow into a huge mushroom on a valid substrate when the surrounding space is clear.
