"Update 1.20" in Minecraft adds a new mob, biome, and flower. The new mob, the "Sniffer," was the winner of the new mob vote at Minecraft Live 2022. It is the first "ancient" mob in the game, cannot be tamed or lured, and sniffs out seeds to dig them up. The "Torchflower" is a new flower used to breed Sniffers; it can be planted in farmland and then replanted. It can also be crafted into orange dye. The "Cherry Grove" is a new biome where you can find cherry trees. From them, you can create all types of wooden blocks. A new block called "pink petals" has been added, which looks like a cluster of pink flowers.

The update also adds new items such as the "Brush," used to clean items; "Suspicious Sand," found in deserts near temples and wells; and "Pottery Sherds," which can only be found in suspicious sand. "Decorated Pots" can be crafted from four pottery sherds on a crafting table and can replace regular flower pots.

Recipe book changes include adjustments to when recipes are unlocked. Jukebox changes include emitting a redstone signal level 15 when playing a disc, and dispensers and hoppers can now interact with jukeboxes. The update also fixes several bugs, including restoring the creeper explosion animation.
