End Portal Frame
End Portal Frame — block.
Obtaining
End portal frames are indestructible survival infrastructure rather than a normal building block. They generate in strongholds and have no ordinary crafting recipe, so a survival player normally reaches them through exploration instead of manufacturing replacements.

Natural generation
An End portal room contains a ring of 12 frames above lava. The three frames on each side omit the corners and face toward the center; a stronghold can also generate some frames with an Eye of Ender already installed. All twelve frames must point inward before the portal can activate.

| Orientation | Every frame faces inward |
| Structure | Stronghold portal room |
Usage
The block occupies a standard full volume and is shown with an isometric preview.
Using an Eye of Ender on an empty frame inserts the eye into its top. When all twelve frames contain eyes and face inward, the inner 3 × 3 area becomes an active End portal and sends entities to the End dimension.
The frame has a barely visible front direction, so a ring can look correct while still failing to activate if one block faces outward. In survival play this orientation is part of the generated structure and cannot be repaired by breaking the frame.

| Activation requirement | 12 inward-facing eyes |

Sounds
The frame uses a glass-like block sound family. Placing an Eye of Ender has its own fill sound and particle effect, which makes it possible to confirm each inserted eye without opening a menu.

Trivia
The frame is deliberately unobtainable and unbreakable in ordinary Survival and Adventure play. Creative inventory and commands can provide it, but they do not change the inward-facing rule required to form a working portal.
