Bucket of Cod

Obtaining

A cod bucket is obtained by using an empty bucket on a live cod. The fish's bucket pickup creates the `minecraft:cod_bucket` item and stores the cod's bucket data, so the catch remains a persistent transportable mob instead of becoming an ordinary item drop.

Cod can be picked up from water and the filled bucket uses the fish pickup sound. The captured fish is marked as coming from a bucket when it is released, which keeps it from being removed by normal distance despawning rules.

Usage

Use the filled bucket on a suitable position to release a cod and its stored entity data. This makes it practical to move a fish between pools, aquariums, or prepared habitats; after emptying, the player receives the normal empty-bucket state for another water task.

Data values

The item uses the `minecraft:cod_bucket` identifier. Its `BUCKET_ENTITY_DATA` component carries the captured cod data, while the item remains limited to a stack size of one because each stack represents one stored mob.
