Lava is a replaceable, non-colliding liquid block with a light level of 15. It has no block loot table; collecting a source with an empty bucket produces a lava bucket instead.

Natural generation
Lava occurs in underground cavities and other natural sources. Deep pools are useful landmarks below the surface, while isolated source blocks can feed a controlled stream when a player needs to light a portal or clear a tunnel.
Usage
Lava provides light and fuel, and contact with water creates special blocks. A bucket can move a source safely, but flowing lava is slower than water and can destroy loose drops, so a temporary trench and a clear exit are part of a safe build. Water touching a source or flow creates stone-family results depending on the direction and block underneath.
Behavior
The source fluid spreads through its flowing form and ignites entities inside it. In a normal dimension the flow tick delay is 30 ticks and the fluid searches two blocks horizontally; a water interaction can turn a downward flow into stone and produces a fizz event.
