Honey Block

Blocks

Honey Block — block.

Obtaining

The block is obtained by crafting four honey bottles together. Reversing the block recipe returns four filled bottles, so the container loop is explicit in the local recipe data.

Breaking

Honey blocks drop themselves with the normal block loot table. The block is

not gated behind a correct-tool requirement, so the useful distinction is its

special collision rather than a tool tier.

Usage

The block occupies a standard full volume and is shown with an isometric preview.

Honey blocks are used in compact redstone machines, honey slides and controlled

falling routes. Sliding down a side resets ordinary fall damage and grants the

honey-block slide advancement check; the block does not behave exactly like a

slime block when pistons move it.

Sounds

The block has a dedicated honey-block sound group. Sliding and landing on it

use the honey slide event in addition to ordinary block sounds.

Behavior

Honey blocks are sticky: they slow entities, suppress ordinary bouncing, attach

to pistons, and move with neighbouring blocks. Their collision shape is

14×14×15 pixels, leaving a small gap that makes a narrow honey wall useful for

controlled movement.

Trivia

The block applies a 0.2 fall-damage multiplier and resets fall distance when an entity begins sliding. Slide effects are checked for living entities, minecarts, primed TNT, and boats; this is why the block is useful in both player routes and controlled contraptions.
