Obtaining

A dead brain coral fan is the dry form of a brain coral fan. A living fan turns dead when it is no longer waterlogged, while the dead block can be placed as a decorative coral shape without requiring water. Brain coral fans naturally belong to warm-ocean coral environments.

Usage

Dead brain coral fans are used for compact reef, aquarium and fossil-like builds. Their dead state is stable outside water, so they can be used as a dry accent beside living coral and other dead coral blocks. The matching living fan needs water to keep its colour and state.

Behavior

The fan can be placed on the top surface or on any of the four sides of a sturdy block. It cannot be placed on a block underside. Its thin shape has no ordinary collision box, and its `waterlogged` state is false for the dead block. The shared coral-fan implementation supplies the waterlogged state and survival checks, while the registered dead variant keeps the dry form stable after placement.
