Calcite

Blocks

Calcite — block.

Obtaining

Mine calcite with a pickaxe and collect it from an exposed geode. Silk Touch is not required, so the block can be gathered as a building material during an ordinary cave expedition.

Breaking

Calcite is a stone-like block: use a pickaxe to break it efficiently, then carry the blocks out with the rest of the geode materials.

Natural generation

Calcite forms pale layers inside geodes and occurs next to amethyst. The clean white band gives a geode an obvious transition from dark outer stone to the crystal chamber.

Usage

The block occupies a standard full volume and is shown with an isometric preview.

Calcite is used as a light building and decorative block. Its quiet colour works well as a transition between quartz, diorite, tuff, and the stronger purple of amethyst.

Sounds

Calcite uses its own calcite sound family for breaking, placing, stepping, hitting, and falling. The bass-drum note-block instrument follows the same block definition.

History

Calcite was added as the pale band of amethyst geodes. It remains a decorative geode material rather than a separate processing ingredient.

Trivia

The block is one of the few naturally generated light stones that can be collected without a Silk Touch enchantment. Its warm white map colour is inherited from white terracotta.

The block registration, geode loot entry, blockstate, model, and texture are separate local records. Calcite has no crafting recipe; its public source is the amethyst-geode generation and block loot data.
