Snowball — item.

Obtaining

Snowballs come from snow layers without Silk Touch. The block loot table returns one snowball per layer, up to eight for a full cover; a shovel is the practical fast tool, while a snow block is the compact storage form for later unpacking.

Storage

Four snowballs craft one snow block in a 2×2 shaped recipe. Breaking that block returns snowballs through its own loot table, so the item can be packed for storage and unpacked later.

The result follows the `layers` block state: layers 1–7 return the matching number of snowballs, while a full eight-layer cover returns one snow block. Silk Touch makes the table choose the snow cover instead of snowballs.

Usage

Snowballs are throwable impact projectiles and can be supplied by a dispenser. They are also used with snow blocks and a carved pumpkin to build a snow golem, while the item tag keeps them in the common projectile family.
