Purpur Slab
Purpur Slab — block.
Obtaining
A purpur slab generates in End cities and end ships, can be crafted from any purpur block or purpur pillar, and can be cut from a purpur block in a stonecutter. It is the single-slab form of the purpur family and is renewable through chorus-fruit processing chains.

Breaking
Purpur slabs drop themselves when mined with any pickaxe. The double state drops two slabs, while the single top or bottom state drops one; mining without the correct tool gives no normal item drop.

Natural generation
Purpur slabs generate as floors, roofs and platforms in End cities and on their end ships. They share the same purple building family as purpur blocks, pillars and stairs.

Usage
A slab occupies half the height of a standard block.
Purpur slabs are used as compact building pieces and as ingredients for purpur-family recipes. The block state distinguishes a bottom half, top half, and double slab; waterlogging is supported for the single-half states.
| Shape | Slab |
|---|---|
| Rendering | Isometric preview |
| Half state | Bottom or top |
| Double state | Full purpur block shape |
| Waterlogging | Supported for single slabs |
| Building family | Purpur block, pillar and stairs |
Stonecutting
A stonecutter turns one purpur block into two purpur slabs without the shaped recipe.
| Input | 1 purpur block |
|---|---|
| Output | 2 purpur slabs |
Sounds
The purpur slab uses the stone sound set for breaking, stepping, placing, hitting and falling. Its sound family matches the full purpur block and pillar rather than a wood or glass family.

Behavior
The `type` state selects `bottom`, `top`, or `double`. A double slab is rendered as a full purpur block, while a single slab occupies half a block and can be waterlogged.

Data values
The block uses `minecraft:purpur_slab`, belongs to the slab and mineable/pickaxe tags, and keeps a stack size of 64. Its Java block properties use hardness 2.0, blast resistance 6.0 and a base-drum note-block instrument.

History
Purpur slabs arrived with End cities and later received their current shaped recipe from purpur blocks or pillars. The Java block-state model keeps the old double-slab identity unified with the single `purpur_slab` identifier.
| Introduction | End city building family |
|---|---|
| Recipe | Three purpur blocks or pillars → six slabs |
| Current state | bottom, top or double |
| Data migration | Double form shares the purpur_slab identifier |
