Elytra — item.

Obtaining

Elytra are found in End ships. The item is a rare exploration reward rather than a normal crafting output, and phantom membranes restore its durability at an anvil or through the supported repair flow.

Usage

Elytra allow gliding while falling, and firework rockets sustain flight after the player leaves a ledge. The wings occupy the chest equipment slot, so wearing them trades chest armour for long-distance air travel.

Durability

Elytra have a durability state and a broken visual. Phantom membranes restore the item without replacing the wing's identity, while the broken form cannot be used for flight until repaired.
