Obtaining

Mining the ore with a suitable pickaxe yields Nether quartz; the block gives no useful drop without the proper tool. Silk Touch preserves the ore block, while Fortune can increase the quartz yield from the normal drop path.

Breaking

Natural generation

Nether quartz ore appears in veins inside netherrack throughout the main Nether biomes. Its pale flecks make it easy to spot against the red terrain, but mining still requires attention because the ore is distributed through open cavern walls and enclosed netherrack.

Usage

The block occupies a standard full volume and is shown with an isometric preview.

Nether quartz is used for quartz blocks, comparators, observers, daylight detectors, and other technical recipes. A single ore vein can therefore feed both decorative construction and redstone projects.
