Wither

Summoning

The wither is summoned by placing four soul sand blocks in a T shape and adding three wither skeleton skulls. The construction starts its short invulnerable charge before the boss becomes active.

Drops

Defeating the wither gives one nether star. The drop has an extended lifetime, so it remains available while the arena is cleared and cannot be destroyed by the boss's normal attack pattern.

Sounds

The entity has separate ambient, hurt and death sounds, while its skull projectiles and spawning charge provide additional combat feedback.

Behavior

The wither is a flying undead boss with three heads. It targets nearby living entities, fires explosive wither skulls, and can break suitable blocks while moving through the world. At half health it becomes powered and ignores arrows and wind charges.

Data values

The registered entity identifier is `minecraft:wither`. It is a fire-immune monster with a 0.9 block width, 3.5 block height and a tracking range of 10 blocks.
