Andesite
Andesite — block.
Obtaining
Andesite is an Overworld stone that can be mined with a pickaxe. Without a pickaxe the block does not drop, so bring at least a wooden pickaxe when collecting it.

Crafting ingredient
Andesite is the base ingredient for polished andesite and its slab and stair variants. The recipes keep the same gray stone palette while changing the surface pattern.
Stonecutting ingredient
A stonecutter converts one andesite into a slab, stair, or wall output without the extra material used by shaped crafting. This is useful when a build needs exact counts.

| One andesite | One andesite stair |

Trivia
Andesite is the fine-grained volcanic counterpart to diorite. In the game, both blocks form a closely related gray stone palette, which is why their polished variants work well together in walls and floors.
