Kingbdogz, a Minecraft game developer, shared new information about the upcoming 1.20 update. Unlike what many players expected, archaeology will not be the main theme of the update. Kingbdogz did not reveal what exactly it will be about, but promised that players will learn about it later.

It was also reported that the Echo Shard was initially planned to be a material for trimming armor with an animated pattern, but such a system cannot be implemented in Minecraft.

Smithing templates have been changed for multiplayer convenience, where they were unsuitable for copying due to durability. Instead, a new system has been introduced.

The developers also noted that they cannot devote time to creating animated textures for mobs, as this would require creating a new system.

Interestingly, the developers don't mind villagers giving diamond gear. They believe this is easier and better for experienced players. Additionally, when copying smithing templates, you were supposed to receive one new template while the original remained in the crafting table. However, a problem arose with this in the Bedrock Edition, and the mechanic was changed.
